First time at BHB?

Strong rip current risk. Rough surf may push you down the beach fast. Swim only near a lifeguard stand, or stay dry and enjoy the sand.
Morning (before 10 AM) is typically calmer before the sea breeze picks up.
Flag estimate based on NOAA buoy data (20–60 nm offshore). Nearshore conditions vary — always check posted flags and swim near a lifeguard.
4.6 ft seas, 17.1 kt wind. Strong surge expected at all shore entry sites. BHB and similar spots not recommended today. Boat dives with an experienced captain only; nearshore viz likely poor from stirred-up sediment. If you must dive, go deeper and farther offshore. Confirm with your operator.
4.6 ft @ 6s — short-period wind chop. Waves are steep, closing out fast, and difficult to read. Not worth paddling out unless you just want water time on a high-volume board. Space Coast generally holds shape better than Gold Coast in these conditions. Check back once wind eases.
4.6 ft seas, 17.1 kt wind. Open water unsafe for kayaks and SUPs. Stick to the ICW, intracoastal, or protected lagoons only. Even experienced paddlers should avoid ocean launches — strong wind and steep chop make self-rescue difficult if you capsize. Find a river or bay with land buffers on the windward side.
4.6 ft seas, 17.1 kt wind. Small craft advisory conditions likely. Offshore not recommended for most vessels. Inlets can be dangerous on an outgoing tide against this wind. Stick to inshore reefs, nearshore wrecks, and protected bays. If you go out, stay inside the reef line and run with a buddy boat. Check NWS marine forecast before departure.
4.6 ft offshore. Rough shore break with high rip current risk. Red or purple flag conditions likely at most beaches. Avoid swimming beyond waist depth; strong undertow possible near inlets. Excellent day for a beach walk, but keep children out of the water. Check with lifeguards before entering.

From the Space Coast down through the Keys, conditions tighten considerably southward: Canaveral and Fort Pierce are running 4.5 to 5.0 feet with 14-knot easterly winds, while Satan Shoal near Key West sits glassy at 3.5 feet with a tight 5-second period. The East Bahamas stand out rough at 10.5 feet with 23-knot NE winds, but that's well offshore; closer to shore, Fort Lauderdale and inshore stations around the Keys show manageable 3.5 to 4.5-foot seas with water temps holding 77 to 79°F. A Special Marine Warning remains active through 6
